Heidi Klum Confidentially Talks About Taking Off Her Clothes

Heidi Klum bundled up for the cover of September’s LA Confidential. We finally have Project Runway back on TV — plus, Buzz’s PR Bracket is down to the final four — and Heidi’s plugging away for her show. She jokes that she likes Lifetime because they fed her donuts, and says maybe they should film on the beach so she can wear a bikini.

On Project Runway’s move to LA: “People will ask us, ‘Why L.A.? L.A. isn’t a fashion capital.’ But if you look at the history of American fashion, it started in Hollywood with designers making gowns for all the starlets. Sometimes I joke with Tim [Gunn] that we should do Project Runway on an island. ‘Here’s 15 minutes, now go into the bushes and find whatever you can and make an outfit.’ I picture Michael [Kors] and me, super tan in our director’s chairs and me in a bikini saying, ‘Welcome to the runway!’”

On cohosting the Emmys last year: “Man, we got so beaten over the head for that! It’s not like the four boys and I wrote it. You get hired to do it, they give you a script and you learn your lines. If I could have, I would have done the whole thing in German, with subtitles—everyone in dirndls and on swings and milking cows. Each nominee would have had to ride in on a big cow and milk it.”

On her upcoming coffee-table book, Rankin’s Heidilicious: “It’s very naughty. I’ve been shooting with this photographer, Rankin, for seven years, and working with him is fun because he always makes me look different. And he always gets me to take my clothes off for some reason. We’ll do some job, and then he’ll say, ‘Why don’t we shoot some more things,’ and I’ll wind up without anything on.”

Heidi’s Picture Perfect in Hawaii

Heidi Klum and her family have been enjoying a vacation in Hawaii for the last few weeks. The other day she wore a yellow shirt and a colorful sarong for a trip to the beach with her camera, before she and Seal brought Leni, Henry and Johan along to a doctor’s appointment. Heidi and Seal are awaiting the birth of their fourth child in October.

Heidi Klum makes it clear: Baby No. 4 will be her last

Heidi Klum and Seal are waving the white flag. The supermodel, 36, and her 46-year-old soul-singing husband are expecting their fourth child in October, and Klum says emphatically that it’ll be their last.

“We’re outnumbered,” Klum says with a giggle from her dressing room before an appearance on The Tonight Show. “Four is perfect. Three is a lot. But four? It’s a lot of work. We’re hands-on, and we feel like this is what we can handle.”

Their children, 5-year-old daughter Leni and sons Henry, 3, and Johan, 2, are excited for their baby sister’s arrival; she’ll be able to help with the takeover, Klum jokes.

“Actually, they’ve taken over already. I’m not someone who is like, ‘OK, this is a museum, and you can’t sit here and you can’t touch this and everything has to be put in its place.’ They live there as much as we do,” she says. “You come into our house, and there is a giant elephant and lion to welcome you. We have those big stuffed animals, and we have toys and things everywhere.”

Klum, who returns as Project Runway host tonight, stayed home with the kids this summer while her husband spent June and July touring Europe.

“Someone always has to be the captain of the ship. I’m definitely the organizer of who is doing what. What are we eating, where are we going, what’s the plan for the day; making sure everything runs smoothly,” she says, sitting in a makeup chair getting touch-ups.

“You know, I would have been a very good event planner. Or a personal assistant.”

Alternate careers aside, Klum is looking forward to a busy fall, which includes the launch of a Heidi Klum Barbie doll in September.

Klum also will release another Victoria’s Secret makeup line, this one Indian-inspired, later this year.

For now, though, her focus is settling on a name for her newborn.

“Because we know it’s going to be our last baby, it’s way harder. We’ve never had this back and forth before,” she says. “Before it was like, ‘This is the name and that’s that.’ We’re going to wait until we see the baby and hopefully the light bulb will come on and then it’ll be like, ding-ding-ding!”

Heidi Klum On The Pregnant Angels

Heidi Klum won’t wear maternity clothes.

The supermodel – who is seven months pregnant with her fourth child – says her role as host of ‘Project Runway’ means she always has to look fashionable so she opts to buy larger sizes of her favourite designer collections to cover her expanding tummy.

She said: “My stylist tries to find things that are not maternity clothes, so I’ve been wearing a lot from The Row, by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. I love their clothes. Marc Jacobs too.

“You just buy things in a size 10 – when you’re doing a show on fashion, you still have to bring it on.”

Heidi’s fellow Victoria’s Secret model Adriana Lima is also pregnant, as are the company’s former faces Gisele Bundchen and Karolina Kurkova, and Heidi revealed her friends have been asking her for advice on motherhood.

The 36-year-old beauty added: “It’s so funny! We must have been with each other for so long now that our cycles and egg dropping must have happened at the same time. Adriana has asked me a few things about nannies and how the birth is. It’s hard to explain and you just have to kind of figure it out.”
